Latifa bint Mohammed discusses ways to enhance cultural cooperation with Czech President

DUBAI: Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chairwoman of Dubai Culture met with the President of Czech Republic during an official visit to Prague to explore areas of cooperation, state news agency WAM reported. 
Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is also a member of Dubai Council, went as the head of a UAE delegation participating in the International Council of Museums (ICOM) General Conference 2022, the report added.
Sheikha Latifa discussed opportunities to exchange cultural, design and artistic expertise with President Miloš Zeman. 
The pair also highlighted the strong ties between the two nations and their work in the creative sector. 
“My visit to the Czech Republic and my meeting with President Zeman falls in line with our leadership’s efforts to build an open dialogue and constructive communication with all countries, thus enhancing the position of Dubai and the wider UAE as a preferred destination characterized by tolerance and diversity, and strengthening our position as a global hub for arts and culture,” she said. 
The first official day of the visit included meetings with the Czech Minister of Culture, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and other local government officials.
Sheikha Latifa was also accompanied by Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation during her visit.
Meanwhile, Jiri Slavic, Czech Republic’s Ambassador to the UAE, said he was ‘proud’ to have Sheikha Latifa lead the UAE delegation at ICOM’s 26th edition. 
“Her visit represents another key milestone to the strong relations between both countries, and we look forward to many more opportunities of collaboration,” he added.
ICOM 2022 was held in Prague from August 20 to 28 under the theme “The Power of Museums.”  
The conference is usually held once every three years, with the upcoming 27th edition scheduled to be held in Dubai, making it the first city in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia (MENASA) region to host the prestigious global conference.
