The Moon World Resort Inc., the company behind the idea, shared a picture of the proposed resort. The picture shows a moon-like structure in place of the Burj Khalifa, at the latter’s exact spot.
One of two minds behind the concept, Michael Henderson, stated that the dream project was complicated, wholly unique and massive. The dimensions include a height of 200 metres and a diameter of 198 meters. There would be 4000 luxury suites and private residences, 300 of which would be offered for sale. Homeowners would enjoy membership to a private club with exclusive benefits and privileges.
To create a moon-like exterior, complete with craters, the creators plan to use a composite material of carbon fiber. The architecture would have solar cells for generating power.
The company plans to build its resort in four prominent locations – Asia, Middle East/North Africa, Europe, and North America. While Las Vegas is the intended site in North America, the company is considering UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia in the MENA region.
Other details of the project
The estimated construction cost is USD 5 billion, while the annual revenue is expected at USD 1.8 billion. According to MWR’s co-founder, the company expects to see 10 million yearly visitations if the project is sanctioned. The resort would be constructed complying with the standard of LEED Gold five-star and operated at a level of five diamond.
The main attraction would allow guests to walk on a moon-like surface and experience a lunar colony. A lunar hop-on hop-off rover would also allow guests to explore the resort. They would be dressed in space gear and enjoy low-gravity walks on the surface. Complete with a water tank and cable system, guests would also be able to experience a zero-gravity sensation when they suit up.
