UAE raises petrol, diesel prices sharply for September in third straight hike

The UAE’s Fuel Price Committee has raised retail petrol and diesel prices for September, marking the third consecutive monthly increase. Super 98 petrol will cost 3.42 dirhams per litre, up 9% from August, while Special 95 price has increased to 3.31 dirhams per litre. Diesel prices have been hiked to 3.4 dirhams per litre, a 15% increase. The rise in prices comes despite Brent crude trading at a similar level to the start of the month, with concerns about China’s demand outlook and a slowdown in US economic growth.
